Description

Multiple Edgar and Shamus Award winner John Lutz returns with a terrifying new thriller.

Frank Quinn, the relentless detective who made his debut in DARKER THAN NIGHT, faces his toughest—and most personal—case yet. A madman is stalking women in the city, and brutally murdering them. Accustomed to working on the most grisly homicides, the veteran cop's nerves don't rattle easily. But when the last names of the killer's victims spell out "Q-u-i-n-n," the detective feels a chill run down his spine. Then a new victim is linked to the woman Quinn cares deeply for, and he realizes that this time he is up against a psychopath that will test him as never before…

Detective Frank Quinn faces his toughest—and most personal—case when a serial killer engages him in a deadly chase.

Reviews

AudioFile Magazine...
Scott Brick shines in his delivery of Lutz's psychological thriller. The casual repartee between the three main characters flows easily. Relentless Detective Frank Quinn, his former team member, "Feds" Fedderman, and old flame and team member Pearl Kasner investigate a serial killer called "The Butcher." Nothing is as it seems at the crime scenes, but listeners will know what the detectives don't. Brick manages to ramp up the horror with changes in volume, a slowed pace, variations in pitch and tone, and, surprisingly, sexy female voices. This tightly knit story and exemplary presentation may force some listeners to extend their driving time to hear the compelling conclusion. S.C.A.
